2008 Nobel Prize in Chemistry
The drum-roll from the past several years finally announced what was an unexpected name! Roger Tsien's name was announced calmly in front of several hundred camera people and reporters in Stokholm as one of the 3 recipients of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for 2008!Roger shares this Prestigious Nobel with Osamu Shimomura and Martin Chalfie. This award was long awaited and thought to be forgotten, until Wednesday morning the announcement was made to honor the discovery and development of Green Fluorescent Protein that has revolutionized cell biology and biochemistry studies of cells.
